Minnesota honky-tonk band Trailer Trash plays its annual 'Trashy Little Xmas Show' at The Parkway Theater.
Trailer Trash are back at The Parkway Theater on Saturday, December 5, for their annual Trashy Little Xmas Show. The premise is a loose one: Santa, tired of the same old holiday cheer, hired the band to entertain his elves, and things went south of the North Pole fast. It's a marathon of a show, and Star Tribune critic Chris Riemenschneider has called it something that "never seems to get old."
For those who haven't followed them, Trailer Trash are Minnesota honky-tonk regulars. They got their start as a mainstay at Lee's Liquor Lounge in downtown Minneapolis, and over 25 years they've built a reputation as one of the state's premier honky-tonk acts. They play traditional country, but they also swing, rock, and groove. The holiday show is their yearly tradition, and it's an all-ages night, so you can bring the kids along.
Their resume runs deep. They've played Jesse Ventura's Inaugural Ball at the Target Center and the opening of the new Guthrie Theater. They've appeared in two movies, Herman USA and Dill Scallion, and have picked up seven Minnesota Music Awards. Over the years they've put out seven albums, including Crazy for Xmas, which fits right in with the holiday theme of this particular show.
