Free online author talk and panel with Lucy Foley, Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé, Ravena Guron and Sharna Jackson celebrating young adult crime fiction.
Lucy Foley is coming to the British Library on Friday 20 November, as part of the Young Adult Crime Fiction Fest. It's an online author talk, so you can tune in from home rather than heading into central London. The session runs from 13:30 to 14:45, just over an hour, and it's free, though you'll need to book your place in advance.
Foley is the main draw here. She's a No.1 Sunday Times, Irish Times and New York Times bestseller, and her contemporary murder-mystery thrillers have sold over five million copies worldwide. The Guest List was a Reese's Book Club pick, and she's a Waterstones Thriller of the Month author and three-time British Book Award nominee. Her latest is Murder at the Grand Alpine Hotel: The New Miss Marple Mystery (HarperCollins 2026), and she's a lifelong Agatha Christie fan who contributed to Marple, a collection of short stories featuring the legendary detective.
The talk is part of a wider festival celebrating young adult crime fiction, which runs alongside the library's major exhibition Agatha Christie: A World of Mystery. The session itself features a panel with Sharna Jackson, Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé and Ravena Guron, and Lucy Rowland, Lead Curator of the Christie exhibition, in conversation with Foley. The festival is part of the library's free schools' programme, aimed at secondary and FE students in years 9-13, and it also runs on Monday 23 November.
