Exhibition of over 300 works by Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, with a restaging of their Charleston studio, exploring their creative partnership in the Bloomsbury Group.
Vanessa Bell & Duncan Grant: Inside Bloomsbury opens at Tate Britain on 12 November 2026 and runs through to 11 April 2027. It's a major look at the creative partnership between Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, two of the most influential British artists of the twentieth century and core members of the Bloomsbury Group. The group's commitment to freedom and radical experimentation reshaped art, literature and societal thought in Britain, and this exhibition traces more than fifty years of their collaboration, both shared and individual.
There are over 300 works on display, covering portraits, still lifes, landscapes and decorative pieces on furniture, ceramics and textiles. The scale of it lets you see the full breadth of what they did, from the paintings on the walls to the objects they made for the home. The most striking part, though, is a once-in-a-lifetime restaging of the artists' studio, relocated from their Sussex home, Charleston. It's a rare chance to see their working environment brought into the gallery, giving you a sense of how they lived and worked together.
