Stand-up show 'Loganberry' by Tim Key, who returns to the stage with poems he stamps and howls over.
Tim Key returns to the Soho Theatre with Loganberry, a new show that runs from Monday 19 October to Saturday 24 October, with every performance starting at 8.00pm. Key describes himself as a rumpled oddball comedy poet, and the show fits that description: he's back in his suit, reading poems he stamps and howls over. It follows his previous hit Mulberry, so if you've seen that one, you'll recognise the format.
As for where Loganberry comes from, Key says it was prompted by a midlife crisis of his own making. The spark was his outrage when Gabby Logan invited him onto her podcast about middle age. From there, he's built a full hour around it. It's a new show, so you'll be hearing material he's been working on since Mulberry.
If you're not familiar with him, Key has built his following through talk shows, Alan Partridge, and a role playing a pigeon in Bong Joon Ho's Mickey 17. He won a Perrier Award in 2009, wrote the book L.A. Baby!, and has appeared on Richard Herring's podcast. He also claims to have met Steffi Graf in 1998 or 1999, which is exactly the kind of detail that tends to find its way into his sets.
