Sir David Jason, joined by presenter Mike Bushell, takes the audience behind the scenes of his stage and screen career with rare clips and secrets.
Sir David Jason is coming to the New Wimbledon Theatre on Sunday 1 November, for a night he's billed as one of nostalgia, laughter and insight. He'll be joined on stage by BBC Breakfast presenter Mike Bushell, who'll be interviewing him throughout the evening.
The show is a look back at a career that's spanned decades of British television and theatre. Jason will be drawing on some of his most well-known roles — Only Fools and Horses, Open All Hours, The Darling Buds of May and A Touch of Frost — and sharing rare clips and stories from behind the scenes of each. If you've spent years watching those shows, it's the kind of thing that fills in the gaps you didn't know were there.
There's a voice-work side to it too. He'll be talking through how he brought to life animated characters like Danger Mouse, The BFG, Count Duckula and Toad, and he tells a few stories about how he built those voices from little more than a single image for inspiration. It's a good reminder that his work goes beyond the screen roles most of us first recognise him for.
