Late-night reading evening of poetry and prose by City Lit writers and students, hosted by William Brady with guest author Andrew Kenrick.
City Lit is hosting another Late Lines on Friday 6 November, their regular performance evening for the writers who come through their doors. It's a simple enough format: poetry and prose readings from City Lit students paired with a guest author, all held in the Cultureplex on the ground floor of 1-10 Keeley Street, WC2B 4BA. The whole thing runs for an hour and forty-five minutes, with an interval in the middle and complimentary glasses of wine for the room.
This time around, the guest author is Andrew Kenrick. He teaches Creative Non-Fiction at the University of Cambridge and at City Lit here in London, and he founded the non-fiction magazine Hinterland. His debut book is Rex Juba: 15 Glimpses of an African King, published by Penguin/Torva. The night is hosted by William Brady, who'll be guiding the session alongside Kenrick and the readings from City Lit writers and students.
If you're one of those students and want to read your own work, you'll need to register your interest in advance. It's worth keeping in mind that the material on the night may touch on adult themes, and readers and attendees might be photographed for promotional purposes.
