Stand-up show in which Sophie Duker and the audience troll masculinity, from hypermasculinity to the 'Would You Rather: Man or Bear?' question.
Sophie Duker brings her new show Hot Beef Injection to Soho Theatre on Monday 26 October, the first of a 12-night run that goes until 7 November. It's a stand-up show in the Downstairs room, and the title gives a fair hint of where she's heading: she describes it as a night where she and the audience troll masculinity, taking on hypermasculinity, heavy-handed handymen, and the 'Would You Rather: Man or Bear?' question. She also points to a non-consensual experience with an older man in the industry as the incident that triggered the whole thing.
If you've come across her work on TV, you'll recognise the name. She's a Taskmaster champion (series 13) and the only winner of the show with a tongue piercing. Since her award-nominated Edinburgh Fringe debut in 2019, her shows have drawn sell-out runs and critical acclaim, and she's supported Frankie Boyle, Ron Funches and Maria Bamford on the road. As a comedy writer and TV personality, she's appeared on Mock the Week, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Live at the Apollo, hosted the BBC companion programmes for I May Destroy You and Everything I Know About Love, and in 2022 became the first comedian to host The Booker Prize. She also starred as 'ELLEN' in the 2025 film Deep Cover. Off-stage, she founded the collective VITAMIN P.O.C.

Hot Beef Injection is the new material she's taking out on tour, and the Soho Theatre run is one of the stops. The shows run from 26 October to 7 November, with half a dozen nights in between, all starting at 9.15 pm. Tickets start at £20, with full price between £20 and £25 depending on the night, and members' discounts available. Those prices include a £2 restoration levy and a £2 booking fee. It's a late one, so keep that in mind if you're planning a mid-week night out.
