Live concert by the Reuben James Trio, with Ferg Ireland on double bass and Moses Boyd on drums, at Blue Note Jazz Club.
Reuben James plays two shows at Blue Note Jazz Club on Thursday 17 December, one at 7:00pm and another at 9:30pm. He's performing as the Reuben James Trio, with Ferg Ireland on double bass and Moses Boyd on drums.
James is a Birmingham-born jazz pianist and composer who came up on the mid-2000s jazz circuit before moving to London and playing at Ronnie Scott's. He grew up on a mix of jazz, gospel, hip hop and classical music, and that background carries through his work. He's performed alongside the late New Orleans trumpeter Abram Wilson and Birmingham's Jazzlines Quartet, and has featured with Stormzy, Disclosure and Sam Smith. He's also in demand as a sideman on the records of Callum Scott and Ruby Turner, and co-scored Apple TV+'s Ted Lasso.
