Exhibition with 180 original artefacts, including the coffin of Ramses II, from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, at Battersea Power Station.
Ramses and the Pharaohs' Gold opens at NEON in Battersea Power Station on Friday 23 October, running through to 3 January 2027. It's a major loan from the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, bringing 180 original artefacts to the UK for the first and only time. Each one is more than 3,000 years old, and they've come here after runs in Paris, San Francisco, Sydney and Tokyo.
The centrepiece is the coffin of Ramses II, which depicts the king as Osiris, god of the afterlife. Around it you'll find gold masterpieces from Tanis, including the gold mask of Amenemope, alongside preserved animal mummies and amulets that give a glimpse into ancient beliefs about what comes after. There are also colossal sculptures and stone heads celebrating Ramses II and his consorts. It's produced by Victory Hill Exhibitions, part of the NEON Group, in partnership with Egypt's Supreme Council of Antiquities and the Egyptian Museum, and has already seen over two million visitors worldwide. The Daily Express called it 'a must-see of 2026'.
