Long-running ABBA jukebox musical about a bride who invites three possible fathers from her mother's past to her Greek island wedding.
Mamma Mia! is playing at the Prince Edward Theatre on Monday 30 November, part of its long run in London. It's the ABBA jukebox musical written by Catherine Johnson, with music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, directed by Phyllida Lloyd and produced by Judy Craymer and Richard East. The show first opened at the Prince Edward Theatre in 1999 and has since played to over 70 million people worldwide, with Classic FM calling it 'the ultimate feel-good show'.
The story is set on a Greek island idyll and follows Sophie, who on the eve of her wedding to Sky invites three possible fathers from her mother Donna's past. The whole thing is built around ABBA's songs, and it's a family-friendly one: it's recommended for ages five and over, though children under three aren't admitted.
