West End musical Mamma Mia!, with ABBA's greatest hits, at the Novello Theatre in London.
Mamma Mia! is running at the Novello Theatre in London, with performances Monday to Saturday at 7:30pm and matinees on Thursdays and Saturdays at 3:00pm. It's a West End staple that's been running since 1999, and it's staying put for a while β the current run goes through to 2 October 2027.
The story follows Sophie Sheridan, who travels to the Greek island of Kalokairi to find her father and ends up facing three possible candidates. It's built around ABBA's greatest hits, which are woven into the plot. Since its debut, it's played to over 70 million people worldwide and inspired two films: the 2008 original and the 2018 prequel, Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. Catherine Johnson wrote the book, Phyllida Lloyd directed, and BjΓΆrn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson signed off on the music and lyrics. Classic FM calls it 'the ultimate feel-good show'.
There's a new West End cast coming in from 12 October 2026, with Sara Poyzer and Richard Standing returning as Donna and Sam. The show runs about two hours and 35 minutes, including a 15-minute interval, and is recommended for ages 5 and over; children under 3 aren't admitted.
