Cameron Mackintosh's West End production of Boublil and Schönberg's Les Misérables, the longest-running musical in London's history.
Les Misérables is playing at the Sondheim Theatre on Wednesday 24 February 2027, part of a run that's been extended through to 2 October. It's Cameron Mackintosh's West End production of the musical by Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg, and it's the longest-running musical in the city's history. Over 150 million people have seen it across 57 countries, and it's been translated into 22 languages, picking up more than 275 major awards along the way, including five Olivier Awards, eight Tony Awards and five Helpmann Awards. It celebrated its 40th anniversary in the West End last October and was named Best West End Show at the 2026 WhatsOnStage Awards.
Set in 19th-century France, the story follows Jean Valjean, a fugitive pursued for decades by his policeman nemesis Javert. It's a tale of broken dreams, unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption, with the score featuring some of the most recognisable songs in musical theatre: 'I Dreamed a Dream', 'On My Own', 'Bring Him Home', 'One Day More' and 'Master Of The House'.
