Gala-style concert and fundraiser hosted by Nina Wadia that showcases Asian talent in theatre and supports The Boury Academy.
RepresentAsian: An Evening of Asian Talent comes to the Lyric Theatre on Monday 9 November, a gala-style concert and fundraiser that brings together a range of Asian artists for one night in the West End. The evening is hosted by Nina Wadia, known for EastEnders and Now That's What I Call A Musical, and the line-up includes Hiba Elchikhe, Zheng Xi Yong, Mia Kobayashi, Nadim Naaman and James Hameed.
RepresentAsian was founded by Ben Armstrong in 2021. He describes it as a showcase that shines a spotlight on the talent shaping the past, present and future of theatre, and champions greater access, inclusivity and opportunity in the performing arts. The night runs in partnership with Dishoom, and the proceeds go to The Boury Academy, an initiative that helps young Asian performers pursue professional training.
The show starts at 7.30pm and runs for about two hours and twenty minutes, with an interval in the middle. It's suitable for ages 8 and up, so it works as a family outing as much as a night out with friends. The Lyric Theatre is at 29 Shaftesbury Ave, W1D 7ES, right in the heart of the West End.
