An evening with author Sophie Hannah and expert guests celebrating the life and work of Agatha Christie's detective Hercule Poirot.
Sophie Hannah will be at the Pigott Theatre in the British Library on Monday 16 November, for an evening celebrating the life and work of Hercule Poirot. She'll be joined by expert guests, and the whole thing is part of the library's exhibition Agatha Christie: A World of Mystery, which they've put together with Agatha Christie Limited and The Christie Archive Trust. The session is supported by Great Western Railway.
It's a night built around the original Hercule Poirot: the egg-shaped, fastidious Belgian detective. There's a bit of trivia that sticks with you here, too — Poirot's fictional death was first announced in 1975 by a front-page story in the New York Times, the only time in history a fictional character has been reported dead. That's the character the evening brings back.
The talk runs from 19:00 to 20:30, so it's a relatively short one. Doors open at 18:00, and the bar opens then as well, which gives you plenty of time to get settled before it kicks off. The venue is the Pigott Theatre, inside the British Library Knowledge Centre in the St Pancras building, so it's right in the heart of London.

If you're planning to go, it's worth keeping in mind that the doors open an hour and a half before the start, and the bar is open from the same time.
