Fat Freddy's Drop play The Great Hall at Alexandra Palace on their 'Based on a True Story' 21st Anniversary Tour, with special guest DJ Nightmares On Wax.
Fat Freddy's Drop play Alexandra Palace on Friday 23 October, part of their Based on a True Story 21st Anniversary Tour. They're a seven-piece from Wellington, Aotearoa, and their sound pulls from dub, reggae, soul, funk and electronic music. The tour is built around their debut album, Based on a True Story, which they released independently in 2005. It went on to become Aotearoa's longest-charting album, spending 111 weeks in the Top 40 and picking up eight New Zealand Music Awards.
This is the band's first set of shows since the passing of founding member Chris 'MU' Faiumu, so it's a bit of a milestone for them. They'll be joined by special guest DJ Nightmares On Wax, who opens the night before the band takes over. The whole thing is held in The Great Hall at Alexandra Palace, Alexandra Palace Way, Wood Green, London N22 7AY.
