Relaxed performance of Disney's The Lion King, with the same production but an auditorium atmosphere designed to make everyone feel safe and comfortable.
Disney's The Lion King has a relaxed performance at the Lyceum Theatre on Sunday 27 June 2027, starting at 13:30. It's the same production you'd see at any other showing, but with the auditorium atmosphere adjusted to make everyone feel safe and comfortable. If you've been wanting to take the show to someone who finds a typical theatre environment a bit much, this is the one to book.
It's a production with some history behind it. Now in its 27th year at the Lyceum, it's been seen by more than 110 million people worldwide. Julie Taymor directed it, and it picked up six Tony Awards when it premiered on Broadway in 1997. The book is by Roger Allers and Irene Mecchi, with music and lyrics from Elton John, Tim Rice and Lebo M. You'll recognise the songs from the soundtrack: 'Circle of Life', 'Hakuna Matata' and 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight' are all in there.
