Cinema screening of Alejandro G. Iñárritu's disaster comedy 'Digger', with Tom Cruise as an oil baron who causes an environmental catastrophe.
Digger is screening at Barbican Cinema 1 on Sunday 25 October, the final day of its run at the Barbican Centre. It's a new feature from Alejandro G. Iñárritu, the Academy Award winner behind Birdman, and it's been a long time coming: he started developing it shortly after The Revenant, and the character of Digger Rockwell became the foundation the whole thing was built around.
Tom Cruise plays Digger, the most powerful man in the world—an oil baron who unleashes an environmental catastrophe and then sets out on a frantic mission to prove he's humanity's saviour before it destroys everything. It's billed as a comedy of catastrophic proportions, and it runs 2 hours and 9 minutes. The supporting cast is a big one: Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Jesse Plemons, Sandra Hüller and Michael Stuhlbarg all turn up alongside Cruise.
The film is certified 15, so keep that in mind if you're bringing anyone younger. It's been playing at the Barbican since Friday 2 October, so this is one of the last chances to catch it there.
