Blindboy Boatclub brings his award-winning live storytelling show, The Blindboy Podcast LIVE, to the Barbican on his biggest UK tour yet.
Blindboy Boatclub brings The Blindboy Podcast LIVE to the Barbican Centre on Monday 26 October, as part of what he calls his biggest UK tour yet. The show is an award-winning performance in the Irish tradition of the SeanchaΓ β the storyteller β and it blends history, fiction, cultural critique and politics into something he describes as 'the podcast hug'. It's a live version of the podcast that's drawn over 60 million global listens, and it's played sold-out shows from Toronto to Galway.
Boatclub himself is a bit of a polymath: bestselling author, screenwriter, songwriter, musician, producer and academic. The New York Times has called him a 'cultural phenomenon', and that wide-ranging background is exactly what feeds into the show. He pulls from history and politics as much as from fiction and cultural critique, so the evening tends to move across a few different registers rather than sticking to one. The Barbican date will feature Boatclub alongside a surprise guest, and the whole thing is presented by Fane.
