Free drop-in design activities for families inspired by invention and reimagining our cities during the October half term at the V&A.
The V&A South Kensington is running its October Half term Festival from Monday 26 October to Friday 30 October, a week of drop-in family activities built around invention and reimagining our cities. It's a free event, so you can just turn up with the kids whenever suits you during the half term break.
The programme is made up of several different sessions. Design: Your Future City and Design: The Circulation Department are both drop-in workshops, so you don't need to book a slot in advance—you just show up and get stuck in. There's also Design Baby, and for a bit of something different, the BSL pop-up performance The Great Museum Adventure runs on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 October. Between the workshops and the performance, there's enough to keep you going for more than one visit if you fancy coming back.
One thing to keep in mind is that the schedule has changed. The sessions on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 October have been cancelled due to industrial action, so if you're planning to go, aim for the earlier part of the week—Monday 26 to Wednesday 28 are your safest bets. The BSL performance is on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29, so Wednesday is the day you can catch both the workshops and the show in one go.

It's all free, and since it's drop-in, you can work it around your own half term plans rather than committing to a fixed time. The whole thing runs at the V&A South Kensington in London, from Monday 26 October to Friday 30 October, with the workshops and the BSL performance The Great Museum Adventure as the main things on the bill.
