UK premiere of The Oracle, an immersive improvisational theatre experience blending the ancient ritual of Delphi with long-form improv.
The Oracle makes its UK premiere at Unity Theatre on Saturday 31 October, starting at 5:45pm. It's an immersive, improvisational theatre experience created by Jonathan Pitts, which has been performed worldwide and now arrives in Liverpool for its first UK outing.
The show is built around the ancient ritual of Delphi, and the audience plays a part in it. You submit your deepest questions, and the Priest chooses one worthy of the Gods. From there, a collective of trance-talking improvisers, known as the Delphi, take over. They weave together spontaneous story, poetry, monologues and scene work to build a metaphor and deliver an answer. Because it's all improvised, no two performances are the same, and the whole thing is shaped by the question that gets picked.

It's a long-form improv piece, so it's less about quick gags and more about the story it builds in the room. The whole thing runs for about 75 minutes, and since it's an immersive show, you're part of the ritual rather than just watching it from a distance. Tickets are £12 or £10, and it kicks off at 5:45pm at Unity Theatre.
