Family concert by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, with sea shanties and works inspired by the oceans, aimed at children aged 5 to 8.
The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra are trading their usual roles for a pirate crew on Sunday 27 June 2027, at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. The concert is called The Hunt for Pirate Treasure, and it's a family afternoon that takes the audience on a voyage across symphonic seas in search of musical treasure. It's aimed squarely at younger listeners, with children aged 5 to 8 being the most suitable audience.
The programme gathers swashbuckling sounds and sea shanties alongside works inspired by the oceans, with fearless fun and games threading the way. It's a family concert, so it's designed to be an active experience rather than a sit-still-and-listen one. BSL interpretation runs throughout, provided by Kate Labno, and the whole thing is presented by Lucy Drever, with Ellie Slorach conducting the orchestra. Tickets for children under 18 months are free, though they still need to be booked in advance.

It's a Sunday afternoon slot, so it works as a family outing rather than a late night. The concert starts at 14:30 at the Philharmonic Hall on Hope Street, and tickets start from £10. General sale opened on Wednesday 3 June at 10am.
