Sunday of live music at The Cavern Club on Mathew Street, with The Shakers headlining the front stage and acts on both stages.
The Shakers are back at The Cavern Club on Sunday 8 November, headlining a full day of live music that runs across both stages. It's part of their weekly Shaking Sunday Session, which is the anchor of the club's Sunday programme, and on this particular date they're taking the main slot from 6:15pm to 9:00pm.
The day starts early on the front stage, with Scott Beckett playing 11:15am to 1:00pm, followed by Ray Durie from 1:15pm to 3:00pm. From 3:15pm to 6:00pm, the slot alternates between McDonald's Farm and The Shades, so it's worth checking who's on before you head down. The Shakers then take over from 6:15pm, and Madison keeps things going from 9:15pm until midnight. Over in the Live Lounge, Gary Murphy plays from 2:00pm to 3:45pm, so there's music running on both stages for a good part of the afternoon.
It's a typical Sunday at the Cavern, built around The Shakers' weekly session and acoustic acts on both stages. The club also runs 'Beatle Night' on Thursdays with the resident Cavern Club Beatles, and 'Cavern Originals', a monthly showcase for emerging UK talent. Regular acoustic residents include Scott Beckett, Jim Yeung, Clark Gilmour, Tony Skeggs, Jonny Parry, Ray Durie, Charlie Skeggs, Richard Batty and Ben Watt-Doak, and the week finishes with open-mic nights like The Monday Club, hosted by local musician Ian Prowse of Pele and Amsterdam. The Cavern Pub is open seven days a week with free entry and music every evening.
