Friday night of live music at The Cavern Club with local acts in the Front Room and The Cavern Club Beatles headlining in the Live Lounge.
The Cavern Club has live music running across both its stages on Friday 30 October, with the day starting at 11:00am. It's a long one, with the Front Room and the Live Lounge both playing throughout the day and into the evening, so you can drift between the two rather than sticking to one room.
The Front Room takes the bulk of the day's bill. Jim Yeung, Charlie Skeggs, Ray Durie, Jonny Parry, The Grey Twins and the Tony Skeggs Band all have slots there, and they're spread across the hours, so there's something on from the morning right through to the night. The Live Lounge runs alongside them, with Gary Murphy and Craig LW taking the earlier part of the day. The room closes at 6:00pm and reopens at 7:15pm, with the Cavern Club Beatles headlining at 7:30pm. They're the resident Beatles act, and their show is The Cavern Club Beatles musical story – from The Cavern to the Rooftop!, which they bill as a night of Beatlemania.
It's a good way to see how the club works. The Cavern is a Liverpool institution that puts on tribute shows alongside local acts, and the resident Beatles act is a regular part of that. The venue also books tribute bands like London Calling, who play The Clash, and Bootleg Blondie, as well as Liverpool songwriting legend Ian McNabb, who founded Icicle Works. All the acts are subject to change, so it's worth keeping that in mind if you're heading in for one name in particular.
