A brand-new theatre show for young children featuring puppetry and songs, inspired by the Magic Light Pictures series and picture books by Axel Scheffler.
Pip and Posy Live on Stage comes to The Playhouse in Liverpool from Wednesday 31 March to Saturday 3 April 2027. It's a brand-new theatre show for families, and it's from the producers of The Smartest Giant in Town.
The show is inspired by the BAFTA-nominated animated series from Magic Light Pictures, which itself comes from the picture books by Axel Scheffler — the same illustrator who did The Gruffalo. It follows best friends Pip and Posy, whose lives revolve around the world of play, and their friends Mo and Jamila as they go on an adventure through tangled jungles, slimy swamps and high above the clouds aboard a big red balloon, while the Troll hunts for the treasure. It's built around toe-tapping songs, puppetry and interactive play, and it celebrates imagination, kindness and creativity. The whole thing runs for 55 minutes and is recommended for ages 2-7, so it's a good length for the younger end of that range.
