Liverpool Christmas market with the outdoor ice rink Skate St George's, a fairground, Christmas tree maze and the Snowed Inn rooftop bar.
Liverpool Christmas Markets are back from 21 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, with two main sites running across the city. Both close on Christmas Day, so you'll have to pick your days around that. The first is Skate St George's at St George's Plateau, opposite Lime Street (L1 1JJ), which sits right in front of St George's Hall. This year it's run by Underbelly, who've taken over from Clarke Events, the operator that held the site for about a decade. Underbelly have pushed up stall costs, which has priced out some of the long-standing traders, so the line-up of stalls changes from year to year.
At St George's, you'll find an outdoor ice rink, a Big Wheel, a Christmas Tree Maze, a carousel and the Snowed Inn rooftop bar. The second main site is Liverpool Christmas Wonderland at the Pier Head waterfront (L3 1DP), run by Icebox Live. It replaces the previous Pier Head winter festival and looks out over the Royal Liver Building's clock tower on a waterfront that was a UNESCO World Heritage Site from 2004 to 2021. Wonderland has a covered ice rink and 36 attractions, including an 85m Star Flyer and Santa's Grotto. It runs from 20 November to 3 January, also closed Christmas Day.
Beyond the two big ones, there are a few smaller dates to keep track of. The Basnett Street Artisan Market in the city centre, run by Liverpool City Council, is on 7, 21 November and 5 December. Makers at the Mansion, held by The Reader charity at Calderstones Park in south Liverpool, runs on 28 and 29 November. The wider festive offer includes late-night shopping at Liverpool ONE, the city's Christmas lights switch-on and the Christmas programmes of the two cathedrals.
