Storytelling session with songs, rhymes, bubbles and crafts for parents and children at The Storybarn in Calderstones Park.
Incy Wincy Rhymers is on at The Storybarn this Monday 26 October, part of the regular storytelling sessions for parents and children. It's a storytelling hour built around songs, rhymes, bubbles and crafts, so it's as much about doing things as it is about listening. The sessions are led by The Storyhunters, and you'll get a craft to take home afterwards, plus a tea or coffee for the adults.
The Storybarn itself is an imaginative, fully inclusive play space for children and families, tucked inside The Reader's home in Calderstones Park, right next to the Ice Cream Parlour. It's become a well-loved fixture for regular park users and visitors, with storytelling, arts and crafts, dressing-up, a craft room and birthday parties. There's also a Holiday Club that takes families out into the park, and 'Storybarn Relaxed Sessions' for families with autistic children and those with sensory conditions. The Reader is currently transforming the derelict Mansion House into The International Centre for Shared Reading, a community hub built around reading, well-being, the site's rich heritage and the park's green space.

Each session lasts about 70 minutes. Tickets are £3.50 each, and since a parent and child need two, it's £7 for the pair; children under 12 months go free. Advance booking is recommended as capacity is limited.
