Discover Liverpool! is a self-guided urban adventure that works as a cross between a treasure hunt and an outdoor escape room, played through the Go Quest Adventures app. It's a bit of a hybrid: you're out in the city, but the game is on your phone, and the two feed into each other. As you move through the streets, every turn hides a clue, every landmark tells a story, and every puzzle brings you closer to victory. You'll take in Liverpool's famous sights and some of its hidden gems while solving challenges, unlocking fun facts and competing for points.
One of the best things about it is that it's entirely at your own pace. There's no set start time or fixed schedule, so you can fit it in whenever suits you. The route runs for about 2.2 miles and takes roughly two and a half to three hours to complete, which makes it a decent half-day out without being an all-day commitment. It's pitched at families, friends, couples and teams, and one ticket covers up to five people, so it works just as well for a small group as it does for a pair.

There are a few practical bits to keep in mind before you set off. It's recommended for ages 10 and over, and children under 16 need adult supervision. If you've got a dog, you'll be glad to know the experience is pet-friendly, so you can bring them along for the walk.
