Creative Health Cabaret by Collective Encounters that reimagines stories of health inequity through fable, music, comedy and performance for all ages.
Collective Encounters bring A Turn for the Better to Unity Theatre on Wednesday 2nd December, a creative health cabaret co-created with marginalised communities across Liverpool. It's a family-friendly show that takes hidden stories of health inequity and reimagines them as fables and myths, bringing them to the stage alongside music, comedy and performance. The aim is to offer a vision for more inclusive medicine and community care, framing health advocacy and universal healthcare as community issues rather than just individual ones.
Because it was co-created with local people, the performance makes space for authentic voices and lived experience to be heard and celebrated. It's presented as suitable for all ages, with babies and toddlers welcome, so it's one of those rare mid-week things you can actually bring the whole family to. Integrated Audio Description and BSL Interpretation are built into the performance, so they're part of the show rather than an add-on.
