Halloween evening at Archive with a Halloween quiz, a big-screen showing of Hocus Pocus, fancy dress with prizes and food and drinks.
Archive is doing a Halloween special on Saturday 31 October, with a screening of Hocus Pocus as the main event. It's a long one, running from 6pm through to 10:30pm, and it's open to all ages, so it works as a family night out as much as a get-together with friends. Doors open at 6pm, which gives you plenty of time to settle in before things actually get going.
The evening is split into two halves. First up is a Halloween quiz at 7pm, and once that's wrapped up, Hocus Pocus comes on the big screen at 8:30pm. Between the two, there's a good window to grab a drink or some food without having to rush. Fancy dress is encouraged throughout the night, and there are prizes for the best costumes as well as for the quiz winners, so if you've got a costume you've been waiting to wear, this is a decent place to bring it out.
Food runs all evening, with pizzas, evening menu favourites and spooky specials on the go, and the bar stays open with drinks and special Halloween cocktails. Since it's an all-ages night, you can easily make a meal of it—quiz, dinner, and the film—rather than just popping in for the screening. The whole thing stretches over four and a half hours, so it's a full evening's plan rather than a quick trip in and out.
