Beginner-friendly watercolor painting workshop led by local artist Jacqueline Collins, with all supplies provided.
Jacqueline Collins is leading a watercolor painting workshop at the Indianapolis Public Library - West Indianapolis Branch on Tuesday, October 20, from 5 PM to 7 PM. Collins is a local artist, and she's keeping the session open to all skill levels, so it works whether you've never touched a brush or you've been painting for years. The library provides all the supplies, which means you just have to show up—no need to go out and buy your own paints or paper beforehand.
The workshop takes place at the West Indianapolis Branch, located at 1216 S. Kappes Street. The branch has a long history in the neighborhood: the first branch opened back in 1897, shortly after the area was annexed into the city. A new building on West Morris Street, funded by a $120,000 grant from the Andrew Carnegie Foundation, opened in 1912 and served the community until 1986, when the current 5,000-square-foot branch on South Kappes Street began service. The branch is also a Dementia Aware Organization, designated as a Level 1 Awareness Space.
