Storytime session for babies, toddlers and preschoolers at the West Indianapolis Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library.
Storytime at West Indy is back at the West Indianapolis Branch on Wednesday, October 28, from 11 AM to 11:30 AM. It's a session for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers, so it's built for the youngest crowd. If you've got a little one at home, it's a half-hour of reading and listening together, and it's part of the branch's regular Story Time program for the youngest visitors.
The branch itself has a bit of a history. It was the library's first branch in the area, opening in 1897 after West Indianapolis was annexed by the city. A new building on West Morris Street, built with a $120,000 grant from the Andrew Carnegie Foundation, opened in 1912 and served the community until 1986, when the current 5,000-square-foot branch began service on South Kappes Street. That's where you'll find this session.
