Free teen session run by Teen Central in the library's new Teen Space where teens aged 12 to 18 can explore art, technology, games and science.
Teen Zone is back at the Central Library on Tuesday, November 10, from 5 PM to 7 PM. It's run by Teen Central, the Indianapolis Public Library's teen program, and takes place in the library's new Teen Space on the second floor.
If you've never been, here's the deal: it's open to teens aged 12 to 18, and the whole point is to just hang out and mess around with different things. You can dive into art, technology, games, and science, and pick up new skills at your own pace with free materials on hand. There's no set agenda or class to follow, so you can spend your time on whatever catches your eye.
It helps to know where you're heading. The Central Library is the hub of the whole Indianapolis Public Library system, and it's a bit of a landmark in its own right. The original 1917 building was designed by Paul Cret and built of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, while the six-story glass and steel-framed addition, designed by Evans Woollen, opened in 2007. The Teen Space is up on the second floor of that newer section.
