Afternoon of Nintendo Switch gaming for teens ages 12-17 at the Central Library, part of the library's Teen Central programming.
Teen Switch Gaming Afternoon is happening at the Central Library on Thursday, October 29, from 3 PM to 5 PM. It's part of the Indianapolis Public Library's Teen Central programming, and it's open to teens ages 12 to 17. The library provides the consoles—Nintendo Switch and Switch 2—so you don't need to bring your own.
They'll have a few titles ready to go: Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, and Just Dance. The whole thing is framed as a low-pressure session, so it's more about hanging out and playing than anything competitive. If you're looking for a way to spend a couple of hours after school and meet some new people, this is a pretty easy way to do it.
Since it's at the Central Library, you'll be at the hub of the whole Indianapolis Public Library system. The original 1917 building was designed by Paul Cret and built of Indiana limestone in the Greek Doric style, and it's widely considered one of the most outstanding secular buildings in the U.S. A six-story glass and steel-framed addition by Evans Woollen opened there in 2007, so the place has both the old limestone and the newer glass look. It's at 40 East Saint Clair Street, downtown.
