Workshop for teens on the basics of gardening, including planting, soil and plant care and hacks for a home garden.
Amy Mullen is leading a teen gardening workshop at the Wayne Branch Library on Saturday, November 7, from 2 PM to 3 PM. It's a one-hour session built around the basics of getting something to grow, and it's aimed at teens.
The workshop covers the fundamentals: planting, soil, and plant care. From there, Mullen adds in simple hacks for starting your own garden at home, whether you have a full backyard, a balcony, or just a sunny windowsill. The idea is that you don't need a lot of space to get started—a few pots and a bit of light will do.
Places are limited, so you'll need to sign up in advance. Registration opens on Tuesday, October 27, at 10:30 AM. If you're planning to go, it's worth setting a reminder for that morning, since spots are capped.
