Interactive educational experience for K-12 students to explore STEAM careers through hands-on demonstrations led by Purdue University students and faculty.
The Indianapolis Colts and Purdue University are teaming up for the Colts STEAM Combine, an interactive educational experience for K-12 students that takes over Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday, November 1, from 12 PM to 3 PM. It's the first year of the partnership, and the whole thing is built around STEAM—science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics—shown through the lens of sports.
Inside the stadium, Purdue students and faculty run the demonstrations, showing how those STEAM skills translate into real-world professions. The idea is to let students get hands-on with the concepts rather than just reading about them, with the sports angle serving as the hook. It's aimed at K-12 students, so it's something you can bring the kids to on a Sunday afternoon.
The partnership goes beyond this one event, too. It opens up professional development, career panels, internships, and exclusive Colts experiences to Purdue students. Purdue itself is a research institution ranked among the top 10 public universities in the United States, with more than 106,000 students across its campuses, and this program is powered by its Indianapolis campus.
