Third session of the Indy Chamber storytelling workshop series, led by Anthony Murdock II, on putting entrepreneurial storytelling into practice.
Anthony Murdock II is leading a storytelling workshop series at Polk Stables this October, with three sessions running Tuesday, Oct. 13, Oct. 20, and Oct. 27. Each one runs from 11 AM to 1 PM at 1533 Lewis St in Indianapolis.
The sessions build on each other. The first, on Oct. 13, is Foundation & Frameworks for Storytelling, where Murdock lays out the basics. The second, on Oct. 20, is Skill-building for Leaders who Leverage Storytelling, aimed at people who use stories to lead and motivate. The third, on Oct. 27, is Put It Into Practice!, the part where you actually apply what you've learned. If you're coming for the whole thing, you'll move from the theory to the tools and finally to the doing.
Murdock is a good fit for this. He's a purpose-driven, action-oriented servant-leader and a proud product of Indianapolis, and he runs the Black Liberation Ecosystem, a company that turns dreams of freedom into realities of liberation through entrepreneurial storytelling. He teaches Entrepreneurial Storytelling at the Lacy School of Business at Butler University, where he also serves as a trustee, and he sits on the boards of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis and University High School of Indiana.

The series is part of the Indy Chamber's Life in Indy initiative, which launched in 2020 after research showed Indianapolis residents had lower civic pride than those in peer markets. Since then, the initiative has worked with hundreds of local employers and civic partners to elevate the city's story through national media pitching, talent attraction, and messaging. These workshops follow April's inaugural Story Summit and the INDY: I'm Not Done Yet campaign, and they come after renewed $2.25 million in grant funding from Lilly Endowment Inc. Lunch is included in the ticket price.
