Weekly strength-training session with Becca Biedler and ID Fit for adults and seniors, with full-body exercises that can be done with minimal equipment.
Becca Biedler leads a strength training session at the Warren Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Friday, November 13, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. It's part of a weekly series at the branch aimed at adults and seniors, so if you can't make this one, there are more coming. The whole thing is run through ID Fit.
Each session focuses on exercises you can do with minimal equipment, and it's built around a full warm-up and a cool-down to bookend the work. Along the way, Biedler introduces basic strength-training terms and tips on how to track your progress, so you'll walk away with a better handle on what you're actually doing. The exercises are full-body and adaptable to where you're at, and they're designed to help with physical strength, cognitive function, metabolic health, and balance. You also get access to Becca's online platform, which means you can keep the work going at home after the hour is up.
The library suggests bringing a water bottle. They've also put together a book list about Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who attributed her longevity and success in older adulthood to strength training—a nice bit of context if you're wondering why this matters. The program is made possible by The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation with support from Honda.
