ID Fit session led by instructor Becca Biedler on basic strength-training exercises, progress tracking and working with minimal equipment.
ID Fit is bringing a strength training session to the Warren Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Friday, November 6, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. It's led by instructor Becca Biedler, and it's aimed at adults and seniors.
Biedler walks you through basic strength-training exercises and the terminology that goes with them, so you'll know what the moves are called and how to do them right. She also covers how to track your progress and how to work with minimal equipment, which is the part that actually makes this useful after the session ends—you don't need a gym membership to keep going. The hour includes a warm-up and a cool-down, so it's a complete workout in one go.
There's a broader point to the whole thing, too. Biedler frames the training around how strength work can improve physical strength, cognitive function, metabolic health, and balance—the kind of things that matter more the older you get. And you don't have to stop when the class is over: participants get access to Biedler's online platform to keep up the exercises at home.

The session is made possible by The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation with support from Honda. The Warren Branch, a 16,000-square-foot library serving Warren Township, has been around since 1974. Registration opens Saturday, October 31, at 11:00 AM, and you're encouraged to bring a water bottle.
