Sensory-friendly Halloween Sunday at Chuck E. Cheese with dimmed lights, no flashing effects, costumes, candy and games for families with special needs.
Chuck E. Cheese is hosting a Sensory Sensitive Halloween session on Sunday, October 25, from 9 AM to 11 AM at their location at 8804 US 31 South in Indianapolis. It's part of their Sensory Sensitive Sundays program, which they've run since 2016 to give children with autism, sensory processing disorder, ADHD, or other special needs a quieter, more comfortable place to play. The Halloween session brings in costumes, candy, games, and characters, so it's a way to do the holiday thing without the usual sensory overload.
On these mornings, the game room and dining area are dimmed, amplifiers are turned off, and all flashing or strobing light effects are cut. There's trained, flexible staff on hand to support families, and you don't need a reservation to come in. The same approach is extended to Sensory Sensitive Birthdays, which are held during these same hours, so if you're planning a party around the same time, that's an option too.
