Mixed-age session for babies and toddlers aged 6 to 36 months to explore sensory play, songs and the beginnings of social play with a Gymboree expert.
Gymboree is hosting a session for babies and toddlers at the Fort Ben Branch on Monday, November 9, from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM. It's a half-hour program designed for the 6-to-36-month age range, led by a Gymboree expert.
Inside, the focus is on sensory play, songs, and the first steps of social play. The mixed-age format is one of the session's strengths: younger children learn by watching the older ones, while the older kids get to step into a leadership role. It's a good setup for siblings to experience the class together, rather than having to split them up by age. The program is made possible by the Everwise Foundation through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
The host venue, the Fort Ben Branch at 9330 East 56th Street, is about 22,000 square feet and holds its own place in the city's library system—it was the first branch in Indiana to become a Certified Autism Center. It's also a bit of a green building: its rooftop solar photovoltaic system provides 80% of the building's electricity needs.
