Workshop on simple meal planning for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, presented by the Marion County Public Health Department's Nutrition Services.
Meal Planning Made Simple comes to the Southport Branch on Tuesday, November 10, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. It's a workshop on the basics of planning your meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, and it's presented by the Marion County Public Health Department's Nutrition Services.
This is one of two health topics Nutrition Services brings to the library each fall. The other is Fiber Maxxing, so if you're looking to get a handle on your eating habits, these two sessions together cover a good bit of ground. The meal planning one focuses on the practical side—how to map out your days and keep your meals consistent from morning to night.
The Southport Branch itself has a bit of history behind it. It opened back in 1967 as a small storefront in the Madison Square Shopping Center, and the current 15,700-square-foot building on East Stop 11 Road opened in 1974. That move happened after Perry Township residents raised more than $5,000 to buy extra books for it, so the branch grew out of a real community effort. The program is made possible by Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
