Adult printmaking workshop at the Central Library's Makerspace where participants carve a linoleum block, ink and print, and take their prints and block home.
Emily Hyatt is leading a printmaking workshop at the Central Library on Saturday, November 14, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. It's part of the library's Maker Crafts series, which runs out of the Makerspace on the first floor.
If you've never tried printmaking, this is a good place to start. You'll go through the whole process in one afternoon: carving a design into a linoleum block, inking it up, and pulling prints. You don't just leave with the prints you make, either—you get to take home the block you carved, so you can keep printing from it long after the session is over. The library provides all the supplies, so you just need to show up.
It's an adults' session, and since it's part of the Makerspace programming, you'll be working in the same space that hosts the rest of the library's hands-on workshops. The whole thing runs for two hours, which is enough time to get a design carved and a few good prints out of it without feeling rushed.
