Hands-on workshop to make your own macrame belt at the College Avenue branch of the Indianapolis Public Library.
Make Your Own Macrame Belt is coming to the College Avenue Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Wednesday, November 11. It's a hands-on workshop where you'll spend the afternoon making your own macrame belt from start to finish.
If you've never worked with macrame before, it's a form of textile produced using knotting rather than weaving or knitting. You'll be working with cord, tying a series of knots to build the belt, and you'll leave with a finished piece you made yourself. It's the kind of thing that's easy to pick up as you go, so you don't need to come in with any prior experience.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Indianapolis and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

The workshop runs from 2 PM to 5 PM, giving you three full hours to work through the knots and get your belt just right. It's held at the College Avenue Branch, located at 4180 North College Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46205. If you're in the neighborhood or don't mind the drive, it's a good way to spend a Wednesday afternoon learning something new and walking away with something you can actually wear.
