Career session with a professional from PNC Bank about banking careers, aimed at teens and adults, with registration required.
Meet a Professional: Banking Careers is happening at the East 38th Street Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Tuesday, October 27, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. The session is led by a professional from PNC Bank, and it's open to both teens and adults.
It's a straightforward setup: you get an hour to hear from someone working in the industry about what a banking career actually looks like. If you've been thinking about money or finance as a path but aren't sure where to start, this is a good way to get a first-hand account of the day-to-day without having to cold-call anyone yourself.
The branch itself has a bit of a history in the neighborhood. It first opened in 1957 as the Emerson Branch, and when the original frame house near East 38th Street and North Emerson Avenue got too small, a 7,500-square-foot building opened on the same site in 1962. That Emerson Branch closed in 2003 when the current 16,000-square-foot library opened as the East 38th Street Branch. These Career Center events are made possible by the Office of Lawrence Township Trustee Steve Talley through a grant to the Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
