Adult class to learn the basics of watercolor painting, with instructor and supplies from the Indianapolis Art Center.
Intro to Watercolor is coming to the Spades Park Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Monday, November 9, from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. It's an adult art class, part of the library's broader adult art, crafts, and hobbies programming, and it's run in partnership with the Indianapolis Art Center.
The Art Center handles the heavy lifting: they provide the instructor and all the supplies, so you don't have to show up with your own paints or brushes. Over the course of the session, you'll go through the basics of watercolor, work through different techniques, and pick up some practical tips for painting. By the end, you'll have a finished piece of your own to take home.

The venue itself has a bit of history. The Spades Park Branch was built with a $120,000 grant from the Andrew Carnegie Foundation and opened its doors in 1912. It went through a $610,000 renovation in 1987, so it's been a neighborhood fixture for over a century. The class runs from 6 PM to 7:30 PM on Monday, November 9, at 1801 Nowland Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46201. The session is currently full, though there's a waitlist you can join if you're still interested.
