Second stop of the touring World Oddities Expo, with a deformed specimens exhibit, sideshow and clown performances, taxidermy and skeleton workshops and on-site tattoos.
The World Oddities Expo is returning to the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center on Saturday, November 7, for its second Indianapolis stop. It's a traveling celebration of the weird, the intriguing, and the magically macabre, and this time it's taking over the Ag/Hort Building at 1198 E 38th St.
The expo mixes art, history, science, and entertainment, and there's a fair amount to sink your teeth into. The Touring Deformed Exhibit is one of the main draws, featuring real, rare specimens with medical anomalies. If you're more into making than looking, the WOE Labs run workshops in taxidermy, rat skeleton articulation, and miniature diorama terrariums. There's also a Main Stage with live performances—contortion, sideshow, and clowns—and an Oddity Ink Parlour doing tattoos on-site.

It's a full weekend, running from 11 AM on Saturday, November 7, through 7 PM on Sunday, November 8. The tickets work on a split format: VIP access opens an hour before general admission, and children 12 and under get in free. If you're planning to bring the kids, that's a nice break on the cost. Between the exhibits, the workshops, and the stage, it's the kind of thing you can spend a few hours at or a whole afternoon.
