Hands-on homeschool program for families held at the Fort Ben Library Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library.
The Indianapolis Public Library is running Homeschool at the Library, a series of hands-on programs for families. This particular session is at the Fort Ben Library Branch on Wednesday, October 21, from 1 PM to 2 PM.
If you're homeschooling, these are exactly the kind of mid-week outings that break up the routine. The programs are designed for families to work through together, so it's something you do with your kids rather than just dropping them off. The focus is on hands-on activities, meaning the kids get to actually make or do something rather than just listening to a presentation. It's a good way to get them moving and working with their hands during the school day.
One thing that's helpful about how the library has set this up is that it's not just a one-off. Homeschool at the Library is a series, and while this session is at Fort Ben, they're also running sessions at the Glendale branch. If you're closer to the north side, you can swap branches to fit your commute, or you can hit both if you're looking for more than one afternoon of activity. It gives you a couple of options for where to go without having to hunt for a different program entirely.

Since it's a library program, it's free and open to the public. The Fort Ben session runs from 1 PM to 2 PM on Wednesday, October 21, so it fits right into a typical homeschool schedule. If you're in the neighborhood, it's an easy way to get the kids out of the house for an hour of something active.
