Outdoor Halloween spectacle with tens of thousands of pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns, the Pumpkin Path of Peril, the Ghost Train, and the immersive Mischief Manor haunt.
Harvest Nights returns to Newfields from October 21 to November 1, 2026. It's the seventh season of the outdoor spectacle, which they describe as spooky, not scary—so it's more about the atmosphere than the jump scares. The whole thing takes place in The Garden at Newfields, 4000 Michigan Road, and runs rain or shine.
The experience is built around an accessible path that winds through the garden for about 90 to 120 minutes. You'll pass tens of thousands of pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns along the way. The route starts at the Efroymson Entrance Pavilion, the main entrance to the Indianapolis Museum of Art, and takes you through the fog-filled Pumpkin Path of Peril and the Ghost Train that rumbles beneath your feet as you walk over it.
This season adds Mischief Manor inside Lilly House, an immersive haunt featuring a zoetrope shadow show by Lightborne and an interactive installation called Boo Shoo that lets you chase away the manor's ghosts. There's also a 21+ Harvest Nights Lounge for those who want a drink with their walk, and a Gothic Garden of Garden Monsters inspired by Felicia Feaster's book The Goth Garden. Local artist Katie Lloyd-Jones has crafted thirty jack-o-lantern sculptures, and the Spooky Screenings film series runs inside The Tobias Theater.
