Dungeons and Dragons club for teens at the Fort Ben Branch library branch of the Indianapolis Public Library.
The Fort Ben Dungeons and Dragons Club is meeting at the Fort Ben Branch on Monday, December 7, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. It's a session for teens, and the club is built around an ongoing campaign that welcomes new players, so you don't need to have played before to jump in.
The campaign is the core of the club. Instead of one-off games, the group follows a continuous story that carries over from session to session, and they're open to bringing in new people as it goes. If you've never rolled a twenty-sided die in your life, this is a low-pressure way to get started.
The venue itself has a bit of a story. The Fort Ben Branch is a 22,000-square-foot library sitting on land the U.S. military decommissioned and handed over to the City of Indianapolis in the 1990s. It's the first library branch in Indiana to earn Certified Autism Center⢠accreditation through the IBCCES, and it runs on a rooftop solar photovoltaic system that provides around 80% of its electricity.
