Tabletop Dungeons and Dragons session for teens at the West Indianapolis Branch library, with materials provided and no prior experience needed.
Dungeons and Dragons is coming to the West Indianapolis Branch of the Indianapolis Public Library on Saturday, November 14, from 10 AM to 12 PM. It's a tabletop role-playing game session, the kind where you build a character and work with a group to play through a story, and this one is aimed at teens. If you've never played before, that's fineโno prior experience is needed, and the library provides the materials, so you don't need to bring your own dice or character sheets to get started.
The West Indianapolis Branch has a long history in the neighborhood. The first branch there opened in 1897, shortly after the area was annexed by the city. A later building on West Morris Street, built with a $120,000 grant from the Andrew Carnegie Foundation, opened in 1912 and served the community until 1986, when the current 5,000-square-foot branch on South Kappes Street took over. It's one of the library's oldest outposts, and it's where this session will be held.

Since it's aimed at teens and provides everything you need, it's a low-stakes way to try D&D if you've only ever heard about it. You'll spend the morning rolling dice and playing through a scenario with other people, with the library handling the gear. The session runs from 10 AM to 12 PM on Saturday, November 14, at the West Indianapolis Branch on South Kappes Street.
